A Thermal Conductometer is used in physics to measure the thermal conductivity of different materials. It consists of five prongs made from aluminium, brass, copper, stainless steel, and iron.
Different metals conduct heat at different rates due to their atomic structure. 
With this demonstration students either clip temperature sensors to each metal bar, or place wax in the end of the bar to see which bar heats up the quickest when the centre of the apparatus is held over and open flame.
